Hello, my name is Mckay (he/him) and I am a licensed Social Service Worker with training from the University of Utah. I am passionate about holding a safe space for my clients as they process life's challenges. I work with individuals navigating trauma (including childhood and sexual abuse), substance use, life transitions, men's issues, depression, anxiety, and faith/existential crisis. I see clients ages 10+, adolescents, and adults. I also specialize in working with members of the LGBTQ+ community. I take a relational approach to therapy and seek to collaborate with my clients on their goals. My approach is trauma-informed and evidence-based, which means I prioritize understanding and integrating your personal history into sessions.

No matter your identity, presenting problem, or background, I want to help you find relief. Our therapeutic relationship is extremely important to me, and your comfort with my approach is imperative. I pull from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems (parts work) as a framework to help you experience healing in your life. Together we will explore your past experiences that impact your present life and teach you tools to help you manage life’s current stressors.

I'm in my final year of advanced training, which means I provide the most up-to-date, evidence-based care. This also means you benefit from my collaboration with a highly experienced supervisory therapist on your case, thus getting two therapists for the price of one. I offer a free 15-minute consultation to see if we are a good fit.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing board games, TV binging on the couch, playing sports, camping, and eating good food.
