Anxiety Therapy

What is Anxiety?

Anxiety is a natural response to stress or danger, often referred to as the "fight or flight" response. However, when anxiety becomes excessive, persistent, and interferes with daily life, it may indicate an anxiety disorder. Anxiety disorders are among the most common mental health conditions and can manifest in various forms, including: Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, and Phobias.

Anxiety Can Look Like:

  • Excessive worry or fear

  • Restlessness or feeling on edge

  • Difficulty concentrating

  • Irritability

  • Muscle tension

  • Sleep disturbances

  • Avoidance of certain situations

Treatment for Anxiety:

At Green Willow Counseling, our team is dedicated to supporting you in managing anxious thoughts and feelings and developing effective coping strategies. We use research-based methods shown to support a reduction of troubling symptoms.

Anxiety-focused therapy involves increasing awareness around the nature of anxiety, how it affects the mind and body, and the factors that contribute to its development. This includes helping you recognize specific situations, thoughts, or behaviors that trigger your anxiety. Our therapists use evidence-based modalities, including TF-CBT, ACT, and IFS to identify and challenge negative thoughts patterns, process past experiences contributing to anxiety, and implement relaxation and emotion regulation skills. Your therapist will be with you every step of the way to assist you in exploring your thoughts and feelings in the present moment, to manage anxiety and find greater awareness, relief, and direction.  We are conveniently located in Murray, Utah close to Salt Lake, West Valley and surrounding areas.
